Dad spent great papa and granddaughter time with Aubrey while eating dinner. She sat on his lap, and her fed her dinner. It was sooo cute. He cut her food into little pieces. She loved being spoiled by papa. I wish I got some pics!
The great-grandkid generation opened gifts first. Chandler got puzzles from Aileen. Aubrey got a huge Tigger and Pooh from Chandler. Aileen got a newborn Cabbage Patch baby from Aubrey.
On Thanksgiving, the cousins in my generation decided to give white elephant gifts or purchase one for $10. This was quite fun and amusing. The rules were as follows: The first person picks a gift. They open it. The second person can choose a gift or steal an opened gift. If your gift was stolen, you pick another gift and open it. Ok, now that you know the rules, this is how it went down...
Will went first and chose a duct taped gift, which he used a pocket knife to get open! He got it opened...just to find another layer of duct tape! When it was finally opened, it was a HUGE remote! We decided to have wrapping rules for next year! LOL! This gift was funny because we were all joking about this HUGE remote at dinner before it was ever a gift. Haha. I forgot who went next and so on, but the remote was stolen back from the giver! Will ended up with a chip and dip set with Mexican flair. Rob opened a rocket set and something else. I don't remember because the rocket stole the show. Chandler didn't want his gift 'stolen'. LOL. Tammy explained to Rob that the gift needs to be stolen because it will blow up their new home. Rob joked that they should throw it in a fire. Tammy freaked. :) Tammy opened a nice black purse. Mel picked our gift, which was a huge shot set with double shot frosted shot glasses and flavored syrup. We did think about stealing our gift back. Melissa opened a Batman Begins DVD from Tracey. Tracey had four of these! Tracey got a singing reindeer that the kids loved. We got a picture in a frame. It is an art pic that is glued into the frame. I think it was from Doug, sorry if it was from you Derrick. :P Well, the gift giver bought the frame to put a scroll into. When he got home, he tried to put his art into it just to find out that the original art was glued into the frame. Hehe. Now that is funny! Dave got book and bakeware...and a pasta pot from Melissa. I think that these are all the gifts from my generation. Forgive me if I left stuff out.
Grandma and Grandpa gave hot chocolate sets. YUM! Thank you! The original gift to give Grandpa and Grandma was not a success. We should all try for that next year...
Dad and Deb normally do a 'gift game'. Bummer, we ran out of time. It was too late to do that tradition this year. Last year we played Life. It was played in teams, and real money was given to the winners and the teams that had certain tokens. It was fun!
It was a good Christmas! I can't wait for game night in the beginning of 2008!
